Felix is a computational ecologist who uses different tools of simulation modelling and data analysis to assess microbial dynamics the soil. He received his PhD from Freie Universitaet Berlin, where he used individual-based and mathematical models to reproduce fungal community dynamics under heat stress. He currently works with the GlobalFungi database to assess and predict macroecological patterns of Fungal diversity across the globe.
