Postdoc in Soil Microbial Ecology

The Laboratory of Microbial Ecology and Biogeography at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join an international project focused on the impacts of global change on soil microbial processes.

The position primarily involves the analysis and interpretation of metagenomic and metatranscriptomic datasets obtained from a range of experiments, including climate manipulation studies, post-wildfire ecosystem recovery, and controlled Ecotron experiments. The main objective is to better understand how microbial communities influence carbon and nutrient cycling in changing environments.

The role also includes scientific writing and active collaboration within an international research network.

This position is suitable for candidates with a PhD in microbial ecology or a related field, experience in bioinformatics, and strong English communication skills. For more detail see the page here.

Start date: negotiable (expected before October 2026)
