Jana is a laboratory technician in Petr Kohout's research group in the Laboratory of Environmental Microbiology at the Institute of Microbiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. She received her master degree at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (Budweis). Within the group Jana is participating in the field works and subsequent sample processing. She performs DNA/RNA extraction from environmental samples, preparation of metabarcoding/metagenome/metatranscriptome libraries for sequencing (Illumina, PacBio, Aviti, Nanopore). She is also involved in laboratory users training, implementing and optimizing of new molecular biology methods and in maintaining of laboratory operations.
