Florian Barbi

Florian is a fungal ecologist who works at the interface between field studies, molecular biology and bioinformatics. He is interested in biogeography and macroecology, addressing the distribution of fungal diversity along environmental gradients, and in functional ecology, using metatranscriptomics to analyse molecular markers that reflect the genetic mechanisms involved in biogeochemical processes at the ecosystem level.
Florian did his PhD in at the University Lyon (France) and worked as postdoc researcher at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala (Sweden). He is currently postdoc researcher in Prague at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
