Johana Kaiserová
Johana is a PhD student at the Kohout lab, studying at the Department of Experimental Plant Biology at Charles University and working on her thesis at the Institute of Microbiology of CAS. She has been affiliated with the lab ever since her bachelor studies, as she has always been interested in various ecological aspects of mycorrhizae, their impacts on soil functioning and responses of these features to climate change. In her PhD research, she uses the GlobalFungi database to describe how extreme weather events associated with climate change affect global distribution and abundance of different fungal ecological groups, aiming to define its implications for the future world. Apart from the lab, you will most likely find her in the gym, in a café, in a museum, on a nature walk or on the couch with a fantasy book.
