Petr Kohout
Petr, an ecologist specializing in microbial ecology, especially fungal ecology, covers a broad spectrum of topics within this field. His research includes fungal biogeography, macroecology, and the diverse and complex roles of microorganisms in various ecosystem processes. Petr earned his PhD in 2018 from the University of Tartu, Estonia, with a focus on the ecology of ericoid mycorrhizal fungi, under the guidance of Prof. Leho Tedersoo. Currently serving as a research group leader at the Institute of Microbiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, and as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, Petr is actively engaged in advancing the understanding of microbial interactions in ecosystems.
